How We Use the Information We Collect

We use the personal information we collect from parents, children, and teachers, to provide and improve our solution, for health, educational, security, and safety purposes. We will not require children to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the solution.

Data Retention

We will not retain personal information for any longer than is necessary for legal obligations, or to provide the solution for which we receive or collect the personal information.

We protect children with our commitment to online safety and privacy standards through our kidSAFE Certification.

What Children’s Information is Shown Publicly?

No Famli account, profile, or any details is made available or visible to the general public through Famli.

We Never Sell Personal Information

We will never sell or rent your personal information or non-personal information. We will only share or disclose personal information as set forth in the Privacy Policy, such as with a limited set of third-party service providers necessary to provide or develop our solution (such as database hosting) or as required by law, and we will be transparent about who these service providers are.

We never use personal information for behaviourally targeted or third-party advertising

Information collected, including personal information and information collected automatically, is never used or disclosed for third-party advertising. We also do not place any third-party advertisements anywhere in our solution.

You own your data

We don’t own any content or information you provide or we receive - you (children, parents, and/or schools) will own your content and information.

Transparency and Choice

We will be transparent about our practices so that you can make meaningful choices about how your personal information is used. If we make a material change, we will provide prominent notice by posting a notice on this website page.

Famli Ltd Full Privacy Policy

Famli Ltd (“Famli,” “us,” "we," or “our”) provides this Privacy Statement (the "Statement") to help you understand how Famli collects and uses the Personal Information and Non-Personal Information (each as defined below) you submit in connection with the Famli product, software, services and the Famli website (collectively referred to as the “Service”) and that is collected when you use the Service. “You” means an individual who accesses or uses the Service.

This Statement only governs the collection and use of information collected through the Service. It does not apply to information collected in other ways or to any other Famli websites, products, software or services, and it does not modify or alter other agreements you may have, or enter later, with Famli.

For example, if Famli collects information about you from third party sources, the collection and use of that information will be governed by Famli’s agreement with you or the source, unless the privacy statement of a third party source indicates that this Statement will govern Famli’s use of your Personal Information that the third party source provides to Famli.

Also, if you provide Personal Information to Famli through other means, such as when you call customer service or send Personal Information related to promotions or product registrations via postal mail, this Statement does not apply to that information. This Statement does not apply to the data collection and use practices of any third parties you may contract with using or in connection with the Service, including third party application providers and your wireless carrier.

By accessing or using the Service or providing information to Famli through the Service, you are accepting the practices described in this Statement.

In addition to this Statement, for certain features of the Service, promotions or special offers, Famli may present different or additional information practices and terms specific to those programs at the time the information is collected.

1. Information that Famli Collects

Famli collects information when you choose to submit it to Famli as well as when you use the Service.

Personal Information You Submit

In this Statement, “Personal Information” means any information about an identifiable individual, as further defined under applicable laws. Famli collects Personal Information that you submit using the Service (for example when you sign up for the Service, download a mobile software update, use the teacher portal, share content with Family members using the Service or invite others to join you on the Service). The Personal Information collected may include your name, email address, account information (such as account and online registration), online activities, and other specific Personal Information, as well as information you share about your contacts, such as the contacts’ name, email address, and mobile number. 

Non-Personal Information

Famli may collect “Non-Personal Information,” which means data in a form that does not include direct association with an identifiable individual, such as gender, language, post code, area code, unique device identifier, location and time zone where a Famli product or service is used, and information about customer activities on the Service, to allow Famli to better understand customer behaviour and improve Famli’s services, products and advertising.

Famli collects some of this information automatically when you use the Service. For example, the Service collects certain information about actions you take while using the Service, such as which web pages are visited by users of the Service, how many devices in the aggregate are connected to the Service in particular geographic locations, and other similar information. When you access the Service from a computer, mobile phone or other device, we may collect information from that device, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system version, location-based information, device type, and your device’s IMEI number. We may also collect analytical data including challenges scheduled, feedback received, time spent on services, page views, activities completed within Famli services. This data collection includes all Famli products.

If Non-Personal Information is combined with Personal Information the combined information will be treated as Personal Information for as long as it remains combined.

2. Famli Use of Information

Famli believes that the privacy of its users is paramount and strives to use their data only in ways outlined in this privacy policy. Most uses of data are for internal purposes only. Famli occasionally informs users of new releases and features via any communication methods you have provided to the services.

Famli uses the Personal Information that it collects to:

• analyse Famli products and other services in order to develop and improve its services, websites, products, content and advertising;

• provide you with more effective customer service;

• detect fraud and abuse;

Third Parties: Famli may engage certain service providers for additional features (i.e. hosting, etc.). Famli will thoroughly examine the privacy policies of partners to ensure that its users’ data is safe and taken care of responsibly. Third parties will not be able to use information in ways that are prohibited by the Famli Privacy Policy.

Advertising: Famli may partner with advertising partners to provide users with targeted and useful contextual advertisements. These partners may set cookies which enable them to recognize your computer and compile information about you or others who use your computer. Ad networks often use this information to better target advertisements that they think will be of use to you. Famli’s Privacy Policy solely governs the use of information and cookies set by the Service and not by any third-party advertising partners.

Transfers: Famli may disclose certain information in the event that it is merged, acquired, sold, or some of its assets are acquired. If, in Famli’s discretion, your information will be handled in a materially different manner than it was by Famli Ltd., you may have the opportunity to opt-out of having your information shared with any acquirer.

Law Enforcement: Famli will cooperate with law enforcement and disclose any requested information if they believe, in good faith, that such disclosure is necessary to: (i) handle fraud, attacks against our systems, or security conflicts, (ii) remain in line with currently applicable state and federal laws or regulations, (iii) continue to abide by our Terms of Service, or (iv) protect the public or Famli Ltd. from any attacks against intellectual or physical property rights.

3. Sharing Personal Information

Except as described in this Statement, Famli’s practice is to not disclose Personal Information about you outside of Famli and its affiliates without your consent.

When you share and post images on the Famli community feed you understand that this is now information that can be seen by any friends you have added on the Famli app. This information is not visible to anyone else publicly within the Famli app, it is only visible to the friends you have added on the Famli app.

Famli may disclose the Personal Information described in Section 1 of this Statement to its third-party service providers so they may complete transactions or perform services on Famli’s behalf, transactions on your behalf, or transactions related to providing services to You. For example, Famli may contract with third parties to host the Service or perform billing transactions.

Famli may also access, use, store and disclose Personal Information (including the content of your communications) to comply with the law and lawful requests or legal process, enforce the terms and policies governing your use of the Service, including investigations of any potential violation, to detect or prevent security breaches, fraud or technical issues, to protect the rights or property of Famli and its customers, and when Famli believes in good faith that the disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of Famli, its employees and customers or the public.

Also, Famli may disclose Personal Information in connection with (but not limited to) the following circumstances:

• Co-Branded Services: Some services in connection with the Service may be co-branded and offered together with another company. If you register for or use these services, both Famli and the other company may receive your Personal Information collected in connection with the co-branded services.

• Other Purposes: Famli may disclose personal information only if consented by you.

Famli will not use or disclose Personal Information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with your consent or as required or permitted by law. Consent may be expressed or implied, and given in writing, by using or not using a check-off box, electronically, orally, or by your conduct, such as use of services or products.

4. Cookies and Other Technologies

Famli’s websites, services, interactive applications, email messages and advertisements use “cookies” and other mechanisms such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help Famli to better understand user behaviour and use of the Service, and to administer the Service and analyse trends. For example, a "cookie" is a small data file that the Service transfers to your computer for storage to allow Famli’s server to "remember" specific information.

Famli may use "cookies" and other tracking mechanisms to help support the integrity of registration processes on the Service and to track marketing efforts. Famli also allows third party service providers to collect information to help Famli track aggregate and individual use of the Service. Famli treats most information collected by cookies and other technologies as Non-Personal Information. However, to the extent that any information is considered Personal Information by local law, Famli also treats it as Personal Information. 

Famli and its partners may also use cookies and other technologies to remember Personal Information when you use our Service, websites and applications, in order to retain changes that you make and to make your user experience more convenient and personalized. For example, when you log-in to the Service, Famli may welcome you with your first name. Knowing your contact information and information about your device helps us register your products and provide you with better service. You may be able to disable some cookies by modifying your browser preferences. If you disable cookies, certain Service features and functionality may no longer work properly, or at all.

5. Changes to this Statement

This Statement is effective as of the effective date at the top of this Statement. Famli may periodically update this Statement to reflect changes in its practices or applicable laws or regulations. If Famli updates this Statement, Famli will post the updated version of this Statement and it will change the “effective date” at the top of this Statement. If the updated version of the Statement contains material changes to how Famli collects, uses, or shares your Personal Information, Famli will post a prominent notice of the updated version on the Service website or send you an email. Your continued use of the Service constitutes your binding acceptance of the updated Statement.
